Was für ein Jahr für die National Hot Rods

Es war ein Jahr zum Vergessen: Aufgrund der Coronavirus-Pandemie gab es nur einen einzigen Renntag in der Saison 2020. Damals war es ein überragender Lars Dreschel, der alle vier Läufe gewann und die Konkurrenz dominierte.

Zu Beginn des Jahres gab es leider einige Abgänge bei den National Hot Rods: Remco Janssen hat sein Auto an Dirk Albrecht verkauft, der es wiederum an die Familie Dreschel veräußert hat, da er sich das Auto von Huub Litjens unter den Nagel gerissen hatte. Welche Pläne Huub Litjens für die Zukunft hat, steht in den Sternen.

Sicher ist, dass die Klasse im Jahr 2021 mindestens zwei neue Fahrer begrüßen darf: Dirk Albrecht und Tim Dreschel. Mit Fokko WildeBoer (Audi TT) kehrt außerdem ein sehr bekanntes Gesicht zurück in die Hot-Rods-Klasse. Das Team rund um Thorsten Arens ist derweil mit dem Aufbau eines neuen Fahrzeugs beschäftigt, das schon bald an dieser Stelle vorgestellt werden wird. Das Longhorn-Team werkelt nach eigenen Angaben am Trailer und den Fahrzeugen.

Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt sind die meisten Fahrer mit den typischen Aufgaben in der Winterpause beschäftigt. Das heißt, dass die Vorbereitungen auf die Saison 2021 bereits auf Hochtouren laufen. Aktuell gibt es keine weiteren Informationen und Neuigkeiten der Hot-Rods-Piloten.

Am Reglement werden nur kleine Anpassungen vorgenommen. Das neue Reifen-Reglement wird auf das Jahr 2021 verschoben. Eine Fertigstellung des Hot-Rod-Kalenders 2021 ist aktuell noch nicht möglich, weil viele Themen aufgrund der Coronavirus-Pandemie erst einmal nach hinten verschoben worden sind. Deshalb sind einige Veranstalter verständlicherweise mit Zusagen und Bestätigungen der Daten zögerlich.

Die Hot-Rods-Klasse hofft, im Jahr 2021 wieder einen normalen Rennbetrieb sicherstellen und eine komplette Saison austragen zu können. Die gesamte Organisation der NHRRG hofft, dass alle Fahrer, Teammitglieder, Offiziellen und Fans vom Coronavirus verschont bleiben und ein schönes Weihnachtsfest feiern können.

What a year for the National Hot Rods

It was a year to forget: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there was only one race day in the 2020 season. An outstanding Lars Dreschel won all four races and dominated the competition.

At the beginning of the year, there were unfortunately some retirements from the National Hot Rods: Remco Janssen sold his car to Dirk Albrecht, who then sold it to the Dreschel family after having bought the car from Huub Litjens. What is certain is that the class will welcome at least two new drivers in 2021: Dirk Albrecht and Tim Dreschel. Meanwhile, the team around Thorsten Arens is busy with building up a new car, which will be presented here soon. At this point in time, most of the drivers are busy with the typical winter break tasks. This means that preparations for the 2021 season are already in full swing. Currently there is no further information and news from the Hot Rods drivers.

Only minor adjustments are being made to the regulations. The new tire regulations will be postponed to 2021. A completion of the Hot Rod calendar 2021 is currently not yet possible, because many topics have been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, some organizers are understandably hesitant with commitments and confirmations of dates.

The Hot Rods class hopes to be able to ensure normal racing operations again in 2021 and host a full season. The entire NHRRG organization hopes that all drivers, team members, officials and fans will stay healthy and have a great Christmas.
